If I could get some of the 1.9.5 gradebook improvements in 1.9.4 before faculty depart for the summer the dark cloud that hangs over moodle might be gone and hopefully their enthusism for using it will be renewed and I could work hard in the summer to get their courses/gradebooks lookin good. I am sure it is a lot harder than it sounds but I am just dreaming. would be nice if some of the 1.9.5 gradebook improvements could be back ported to 1.9.4.

I see this is fixed in 1.9.5 but would be nice for it to be fixed in 1.9.4 as I have no idea when 1.9.5 will be released and most likely we will not be able to properly test before our next school year as we have activity locking and it takes a long time for us to be able to upgrade. I was really excited about being able to add feedback in the gradebook but there is no way I can spend the time clicking the override check box twice and updating changes for every single student. Also, I hate for all students to have to have their empty grades count as 0's but this has been the best option for now. Yes I have done that but it would be really nice to give extra feedback without locking the grade to motivate the students to complete before the due date. I am teaching an intro to moodle course to 24 instructors and was excited to share the quick feedback feature to them, but I am thinking it is not worth using if it automatically enables the check on "overriden".Īny way to shut it off or other alternatives? The way I like to use this feature is when I see a low grade I post some comments directing the students to correct or redo the assignment, etc.but if I put the comment in and the student retakes the assignment the new grade will not automatically show up and that defeats the purpose and time saving benefit of autograded assignments.Īlso sometimes I put a 0 in place of a "-" so the grade will be averaged so the students can see the negative affect earning a 0 is having on their grade, thus hopefully motivating them to complete the assignment, but again unless I uncheck the override box for each student I can not do this. I am really disappointed that when you add "Quick Feedback" it now checks the "overriden" box.

Is there anyway to just turn off the Overridden feature.
